Many people have known or still know someone who likes to bully people. Some of you probably had to deal with a person like that, whether it's at school or someplace else.
Why do people bully?
Most of the time if someone is bullying you it's because they are jealous of you or they have very low self-esteem and in order to feel good they have to make other people feel bad. Some of them don't think people will like them for who they are and then the only way to have people respect them is if they fear them. I think that those are the most common reasons why someone becomes a bully.
How to deal with a bully?
If you are being bullied the first thing you should do is talk to someone about it. If it's at school talk to your teacher and parents about it,anyone that you feel might help. If you know someone who is dealing with a bully report it.
Bullies want to make you feel bad, so the most important thing is either to ignore them or just laugh about the things that they say about you or do to you. If the bully sees that he is not able to make you feel sad or angry he won't find it interesting anymore and will probably stop and find someone else to bully. You have to understand that the whole point of bullying is to embarrass and hurt a person, so don't give them the reaction that they want. Show them that they don't have the power to make you feel bad.
Bullies have been around forever even though the bullying is a bit different now since so much of it happens online, so be careful what you post online and wisely choose your friends. If someone is bothering you block them and don't post anything that you will later regret.
Just be yourself, love yourself and don't ever think that there is something wrong with you if you are being bullied. The problem is the bully and not you.
